Do you do teeth whitening?

Yes, we provide a teeth whitening solution for our patients. You can book a consultation to discuss what the best options may be in order to keep your teeth shining bright.

How long will my appointment be?

Each appointment may vary depending on the individual and the work that may need to be done. One of our team members will be able to provide you with an estimated time for your treatment.

Does Thorne Dental do Children's Dentistry?

Yes, we are a very experienced team that caters for all ages of dentistry and areas of specialisation. What this means for you is that we work in a warm and safe environment where we can maximise the comfort of your child’s dental visit.

Do I need a referral to have Cosmetic Dentistry?

No, we don’t require a referral at our practice. During your consultation with one of our experienced team members you will be able to discuss the suitable dental treatment options and solutions so you can achieve your desired results.

Are treatments painful?

At our clinic we have a combination of methods we can use to minimise any pain and discomfort you may feel. Our team has many years experience in several areas of dentistry so we’re able to use extra care when treating you. In addition, advances in technology have allowed us to use the latest equipment which means a greater end result for you without the discomfort. We also do our best to ease any concerns you may have about coming into the dentist as often they’re just fears that can be resolved!

Is flossing bad for me?

No, the two best things you can do to look after your teeth are brushing and flossing. Our dentists are able to show you the most effective way to brush and floss and this can prevent plaque build-up and cavities.

Sometimes my gums bleed when I floss. Should I be concerned about this?

If you are flossing and you sometimes see a little bit of blood this could be the early signs of gingivitis. There may be other reasons as to why you may have bleeding gums and this should be discussed with your dentist to resolve the issue.

Do all people have to get their wisdom teeth removed?

No, not all wisdom teeth have to be removed. It is dependent on the individual circumstance and the way your mouth is structured. We do recommend that you come into the clinic to ensure your wisdom teeth are growing in the right way and there is enough room for them in your mouth.

What causes tooth discolouration?

There are many causes to tooth discolouration with the major common causes being excessive caffeinated drinks like tea and coffee, red wine can also be a cause as well as certain antibiotics  you may have had.

How often should I visit the dentist?

We recommend you visit our clinic every six months as we firmly believe in preventative care. If we are able to detect a dental problem before it become a serious problem this may save you a lot of pain and discomfort later on.
